Living for the Win

Hi, I’m Shannon, and welcome to Living for the Win—my happy place.
I started this blog for many reasons (and that list keeps growing!). But at its heart, Living for the Win is where my passion for people, my faith, and my life experiences all come together.

First and foremost, Living for the Win is here because I absolutely love people and feel so passionate about sharing what I’ve learned.

Let me be real with you—I’ve been through some tough times. My story’s a mix of amazing blessings, some deep voids, and a whole lot of love, loss, and life lessons. But here’s the thing: we all have our stories, right? And we all have our own lessons that we’ve picked up along the way.

One of the best gifts I’ve gotten from all of it is vulnerability. And no, I’m not saying I’m some kind of superhero who doesn’t care what people think. It just means I’m not afraid to share the messy parts of my life if it might help someone else.

Sharing my story

In 2007, Brandi Carlile released a song called “The Story”—written by Phil Hanseroth—that contains some of the most beautiful lyrics I’ve ever heard. If you haven’t heard it yet, do yourself a favor and give it a listen. Trust me, it’s worth it. In the song, the artist reflects on life’s experiences and, more importantly, the power of sharing those experiences with others. It’s a reminder that our stories—no matter how messy or beautiful—are meant to be shared.

Maybe Living for the Win exists because I’m willing to share. Or perhaps, it’s a place of positivity, a space where we can all retreat to when life gets tough. Then again, maybe I created this space to connect with others who share similar interests and experiences. But maybe it’s simply because there have been moments in my life when I needed someone who truly understood what I was going through—someone who could offer empathy.

On these pages, I’ll share my take on life lessons, hobbies, and interests—like my extreme love for traveling. I hope you’ll visit often and leave with something meaningful. Maybe it will be:
