Shannon Wood

Hi, I’m Shannon!

I’m a Christ follower, a wife to my best friend, and a twin mom. As if that doesn’t keep me busy enough, I’m also a writer, communicator, crafter/DIY enthusiast, and educator. I’m passionate about encouraging others, and in my “spare time,” you’ll find me hunting for travel deals, healthy recipes, and scouting out the best hiking spots!

I juggle all of that with one hand, while the other holds a great cup of coffee. I’m always up for fun, meeting new people, building relationships, and sharing what I’m learning along the way.

I’m obsessed with plants, vintage items, and fun and beautiful home decor! Being the creator of Living for the Win and Shannon’s Fun Finds not only gives me a creative outlet, but also the chance to connect with others and share ideas about navigating life in the present while Living for the Win.

I give God the credit for all that I have and all that I am.

Welcome to Living for the Win – a space where I share my journey to help and inspire others. As I open up about my experiences, you’ll discover how God has shaped my life and continues to work in incredible ways.

Here, you’ll find raw honesty, imperfections, and real stories – not just of my triumphs, but also my struggles. I’ll be sharing lessons I’ve learned (and still learn) as I navigate the ups and downs of life, with the hope that it encourages you on your own journey.

I’m absolutely obsessed with travel and my family – we’re on the move as much as we can! I’m thrilled to share the tips and tricks we pick up along the way as we hunt for amazing deals and explore new, happy places and unforgettable vacation spots.

Now, speaking of family… parenting isn’t for the faint of heart – and parenting twin girls? That’s a whole different ballgame! I’m passionate about connecting with fellow moms, offering a message of hope, encouragement, and practical strategies for navigating mom life. Together, we’ll figure out how to stay true to ourselves and our families, while making the most of every day, including the tough ones.

I’m so grateful for the opportunity to write for Living for the Win—it’s a chance to express myself and share my thoughts with the world. I’m also beyond excited to be working on my first novel, which I plan to finish next year! As an Elementary Teacher of the Gifted, I get to do what I love every day by helping children fall in love with reading and writing.

After losing over 100 pounds, I’ve become incredibly passionate about clean eating and understanding how food impacts our bodies. I’m excited to share the recipes that have worked for me, along with tips I’m learning about inflammation, trigger foods, and the powerful effects sugar can have on your brain and focus.

I’m also open about my struggles with emotional eating and how I’m learning to manage the stress that often leads to mindless snacking.

In addition, I’ll be transparent about how I’ve tackled stress eating and the life-changing impact of completing a month of Whole30, reading Made to Crave, and leaning heavily on faith. These tools and experiences have reshaped my relationship with food and my overall mindset.

I hope you find at least one reason to visit Living for the Win often—whether it’s for a dose of encouragement, travel tips, inspiration for a healthier lifestyle, recommendations for my favorite beach getaways, or even to shop unique custom items from my small business, Shannon’s Fun Finds.

And just a little about me to wrap things up: I’m a proud Georgia Peach who loves everything about the South! But I also believe in expanding my horizons to break free from the typical Southern Girl stereotype. Through travel and education, I’ve broadened my perspective in so many ways, yet at the end of the day, I’ll always be a Southern girl at heart—and yes, the accent is here to stay!
